Tomatoes, shomatoes. Before we get to that…I actually missed last weekend’s storm because I was out of town visiting family in NC, welcoming a brand new baby cousin. It’s hard to believe that all of us now have babies of our own.

Russell and Gavin, Nickie (Bryson and Joseph Dillon were at a bday party), Me and Ainsley, Mary and Evie
We had a great time during the visit, and Ainsley got to meet a lot of her NC family for the first time. Poor thing’s got cousins all over the place!
I was traveling to NC on Friday night when the storm hit. We had no major damage at our house (and didn’t even lose power). But we did have a large part of a tree go through the roof of our smaller shed. The tree got hit by lightning last summer and died, but it’s actually in our neighbors’ yard.
The tomatoes fared VERY well, though! Thankfully the limb came close to the raised beds, but didn’t fall on them. Though one of my bamboo stakes needs to be driven back into the ground because it’s a bit loose, the tomato plants stayed upright and supported during the reported 60-70mph winds. Not too shabby!

Did your garden suffer any casualties?

Jennah, we really did enjoy your visit. Ainsley was the perfect baby guest!! She is so precious! Love those big eyes and Uncle Charles has commented about those eyes a couple of times. It seems strange to see the pictures taken in and around our house. And the pool at Aunt Kat’s felt so good. Ainsley is proof of that! She is going to have to be a beach babe, like her Mom and her Grammy!
