Ainsley turned one on Friday! I was very lucky to have off that day (I work 9 hour days so that I can have every other Friday off), and Will took off the whole darn weekend to celebrate. Before her tiny birthday party (pics will come in a separate post – just us and the grandparents!), we did a little cake photo shoot. So yes, she had TWO cakes that day (both made by daddy).
I can’t believe she’s ONE. It doesn’t really feel like yesterday that she was born and we brought her home (read her birth story here), but…also it kind of does. She’s got several teeth coming through, and I’ve rocked her to sleep a few nights lately. I can’t help but think of how teensy she was when I nursed her in that same chair not that many months ago. She has been such a wonderful baby, and I could kiss that squishy little butt all day. Will and I are very, very happy that she is in our lives.
